Here is some more info to answer our most popular questions:

  • I have a non-UK driving license, can I still hire?

    This is very possible, but it does require some more information and a referral to our insurers (allow 3-5 business days min before booking date).


    Please fill out a copy of the following form - click here - and return on email to hello@thatchandthrottle.com (we will fill in the vehcicle registration section).


    Please include any relevant experience driving manual cars/left of the road/classics/in UK etc, alongside the standard requirements below:



    • Photo of front and back of driving license
    • Photo of passport
    • 2 proofs of address (recently dated utility bill, phone bill, card statement etc)


    Attach everything to your email and we will then apply and hopefully get it approved!


    (Please note: Excesses / security deposits may increase and that if you have no prior experience driving a manual car it would be unlikely we can approve)



  • I'm outside of the age range 23-75yrs, can I still hire?

    Similarly to our policy on international licenses this is not impossible!


    If you are 76 years old for example,  please fill out a copy of the following form - click here - and return on email to hello@thatchandthrottle.com (we will fill in the vehcicle registration section).


    Please include any relevant experience and information, alongside the standard requirements below:

  • I have points on my license, can I still hire?


    Two 3 point offences = Covered as standard


    Any conviction less than 6 points = Covered as standard


    Single 6 point offence (SP30, SP50 or CU80) = Double excess will apply


    9 points on licence for three 3 point offence = Double excess will apply


    Single 6 point offence (MS90, IN10) = Requires referral


    Any ban or disqualification = No hire

  • What cars do you have? How many seats?

    We are a new business starting out in 2026 - so we have one garnet red Morgan 4/4 which is a 2-seater - the fleet will hopefully expand in future :)

  • I want to hire for multiple days how can I do this?

    Please contact us at hello@thatchandthrottle.com or use the whatsapp link to give a brief descrption of your requirements, we can then quote and produce a custom booking :)

  • Pick up and drop off location?

    Thatch & Throttle is based in Finstock, OX7 - pick up and drop off is from here - with parking provided if required.


    For alternative arrangements e.g. local hotels please get in touch :)
